4 die of COVID, 681 new cases in J&K; 70 infected in Ladakh

6 in SBI, 3 at Sectt, one from Raj Bhawan test +ve

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 9: Four persons died of COVID-19 and 322 tested positive in Kashmir division today while Jammu recorded 359 cases and no deaths. The UT of Ladakh reported 70 fresh positives.
In Jammu division, six employees of State Bank of India (SBI) Tikri in Udhampur district tested positive for COVID-19.
Three officials of Civil Secretariat and one at Raj Bhawan were also found infected.
Among 359 cases in Jammu division, the highest 184 were registered in Jammu district followed by 80 in Doda, 36 Kathua, 15 Udhampur,12 Rajouri, nine each in Poonch and Ramban, eight Samba, five Kishtwar and one in Reasi district.
As against 359 fresh COVID positive cases, 786 today recovered from the virus leaving tally of active positive cases in Jammu division to 3647.
Corona cases in Jammu region have gone up to 1,63,357 including 1,57,394 recoveries and 2316 deaths.
The casualties include 1219 in Jammu district, 248 Rajouri, 164 Kathua, 146 Udhampur, 144 Doda, 124 Samba, 109 Poonch, 69 Ramban, 48 Reasi and 45 in Kishtwar district.
Out of 3647 active positive cases, Jammu district has highest 1565 while Doda has 910, Kathua 235, Ramban 220, Samba 176, Poonch 145, Reasi 114, Kishtwar 111, Udhampur 87 and Rajouri 84.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 70 new COVID positive cases including 39 in Leh and 31 in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 773 active positive cases—511 in Leh and 262 in Kargil district.
Corona count in Ladakh stood at 27062. Among them, 26063 have been treated while there were 226 deaths—167 in Leh and 59 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported four deaths while 322 tested positive for the COVID-19.
Four persons who were admitted in various hospitals with viral infection succumbed taking the J&K toll to 4732 including 2416 in Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 139 from Srinagar, 39 from Baramulla, 39 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama, 30 from Kupwara, 16 from Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, 20 from Ganderbal, 11 from Kulgam and 8 Shopian.
As per officials figures, 101,474 cases including 905 deaths and 97,763 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,421 including 304 deaths and 35,954 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,614 including 33,952 recoveries and 235 deaths are from Budgam, 18,355 including 17,946 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,502 including 173 deaths and 20,869 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,354 including 21,582 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,566 cases including 13,221 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,566 including 13,221 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,256 including 15,874 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,287 including 6,064 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 285,429 including 276,430 recoveries and 2,416 deaths.
The total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 10,230 including 6,583 from Kashmir division.
With 2,805 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 433,824 which is 96.67 percent of the total cases.
