Kishtwar clashes: J&K MoS Home resigns

JAMMU :  In the backdrop of Kishtwar clashes, Minister of State for Home Sajjad Kichloo today tendered his resignation to  Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here.
“I am innocent and done no wrong,” Mr Kichloo told a press conference here this afternoon.
He said he is “deeply hurt” by the allegations levelled against him in the Kishtwar incident.
“Did Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi resigned after Godhra riots, what happened to Amit Shah in Uttar Pradesh?,” he said.
PDP says that he is to be blamed but the party (PDP) has no existence in Chenab Valley, Mr Kichloo said.
“I discussed the call of my conscious with the party colleagues,” he said, adding, “I am clear hearted and my conscious does not allow me to continue as a minister.”
“I have decided to tender my resignation to the Chief Minister till the probe brings out the truth so that my presence does not cast shadow on an independent probe,” he said.
Mr Abdullah is in the winter capital today to chair an all- party meeting in the view of Kishtwar tension.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a judicial probe into the Kishtwar incident to be conducted by a retired Judge of the High Court in a time bound manner.  (AGENCIES)
