20 quintals of spurious TATA salt recovered in J&K’s Doda, one held

JAMMU, Feb 12: Police have arrested one person and recovered at least 20 quintals of spurious Tata Salt during a raid in Doda district on Saturday, police said.
Sharing details, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Abdul Qayoom said, “On the written complaint of one Mohit Sharma who is a representative and employee of TATA Company alleging therein that some person/firms are illegally selling spurious salt by way of copying their print as well logo and brand name.
“Upon this complaint, case FIR No. 17/2022 U/s 420,481,483,486,120-B IPC and Sec-63 Copyright Act was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah of Doda district and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a Police team raided one shop running on the name of Malik Enterprises and seized approximately 20 quintals of spurious salt in the presence of the Magistrate and the Godown has also been sealed.
One person namely Mehraj Malik S/O Gh. Hassan Malik R/O Udrana Bhaderwah has been arrested and further investigation of the case is going on.
