Man arrested with 20 quintals spurious Tata Salt

DODA, Feb 12: Bhaderwah Police arrested a man along with 20 quintals of spurious Tata Salt.
Divulging details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Abdul Qayoom said that a written complaint was lodged by Mohit Sharma, representative and employee of Tata Company with Police Station Bhaderwah stating that some person/firms are illegally selling spurious salt on the name of Tata Company by way of copying their print as well as logo and brand name.
“Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 17/2022 under Sections 420, 481, 483, 486 and 120-B IPC and Section 63 Copy Right Act was registered at Police Station Bhaderwah and investigation started”, SSP informed.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Bhaderwah raided a shop running on the name of Malik Enterprises wherefrom the team seized approximately 20 quintal of spurious salt in the presence of Magistrate and the godown has also been sealed.
“One person namely Mehraj Malik, son of Ghulam Hassan Malik of Udrana Bhaderwah District Doda has been arrested”, SSP said, adding that further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah Abdul Gafoor Malik and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom.
