One death, 206 cases in Valley

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Feb 12: Three persons died of COVID-19 and 458 tested positive in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir today while Ladakh recorded 60 fresh cases.
Two casualties and 252 cases were reported in Jammu division while one fatality and 206 cases were registered in Kashmir.
A woman, aged 89 and hailing from Chopra Shop Garhi in Udhampur district died of COVID pneumonia in the Command Hospital Udhampur today. She was fully vaccinated and had no co-morbidities.
Another woman, 67, a resident of Jagtapur in Kathua, who too was fully vaccinated and had no other ailments, died of COVID-19 at home. She was admitted to AK Gupta hospital in Kathua from where she was referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. However, the patient was taken home where she succumbed to the virus.
Two casualties have taken Corona toll in Jammu region to 2322.
Among 252 fresh cases, 88 were reported from Jammu district, 65 in Doda, 26 Udhampur, 21 Ramban, 17 Kishtwar, 14 Reasi, seven Kathua, six Poonch, five Rajouri and three in Samba district.
As against 252 cases, 574 recovered from the virus bringing down number of active positive cases in Jammu division to 2594.
The Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 60 new COVID positive cases including 42 in Leh district and 18 in Kargil.
Ladakh now has 583 active positive cases—432 in Leh and 151 in Kargil district.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 206 fresh cases of COVID-19.
One person who was infected with the virus succumbed today in Kashmir taking the J&K toll to 4744 including 2422 from Kashmir.
Those who tested positive include 80 from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 20 from Budgam, 9 from Pulwama, 45 from Kupwara, 9 from Anantnag, 5 from Bandipora, 8 from Ganderbal, 13 from Kulgam and 4 from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 286,103 including 280,020 recoveries and 2,422 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,255 including 3,661 from Kashmir division.
With 1,624 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 439,332 which is 97.56 percent of the total cases.
