SRINAGAR, Feb 13: With Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore catering to the increased and immense needs of the patients from Kupwara, Bandipora and Baramulla itself, there is a growing demand from people seeking upgradation of the District Hospital (DH) level to have better healthcare facilities available for the people living in the adjoining areas.
People believe that with the up-gradation of the SDH to DH, they are going to be immensely benefited, particularly, they said, the patient care will witness a sea change not only in Baramulla district but also in various other connected districts.
“It has been a long pending demand of the people of Sopore that steps should be taken to upgrade the SDH to DH level which is not only for the betterment of the people living in the district but also for other districts,” said Abdul Hamid, one of the residents of Sopore.
It is to be noted here that over time, the Sub District Hospital has improved concerning healthcare delivery with the administration recently setting up a CT-Scan machine at the hospital which has proved fruitful for the patients who otherwise had to travel to other places for getting the CT-Scans done.
People also demanded an MRI Machine at the hospital so that they are saved from the trouble of travelling to Srinagar.
