JAMMU, Feb 13: Natrang staged play ‘Peele Scooterwala Aadmi’ at its Studio Theatre, here today.
The play has been written by Manav Kaul, directed by Mohd Yaseen who has experience of many years in theatre. Yaseen is also a national fellowship and scholarship holder from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
In its persistent endeavours, Natrang brings the best of the theatre to the Jammu audience for their intellectual, aesthetic and creative enhancement. The play ‘Peele Scooterwala Aadmi’ is the story of a middle-aged writer, who was haunted by certain simple yet pertinent questions about his childhood, that he spent most of his adult life seeking answers to. These questions formed the crux of the reason why the story he tried so hard to write, could not see an end, despite his toiling and burning the midnight oil, writing and trashing drafts, for weeks and months together.
As the name suggests, Scooter, is symbolic of the extreme simplicity engulfing the life of an ordinary middle-class man, with the protagonists being a young man and his father, a duo who shared a strained relationship as a result of a prejudiced grudge that clouded the young man’s mind, since adolescence.
Sagar Gupta as ‘Lal’, Kushal Bhat as ‘Pitambar’, Brijesh Avtaar Sharma as ‘Budha’, Bhawani Singh Bali as ‘Baap’ and Kananpreet Kaur as ‘Neel’ performed their roles in a highly professional manner.
The lights and music of the play was done by Sushant Singh Charak. The show was coordinated by Sumeet Sharma and the presentations were done by Rishav Sharma.
