DODA, Feb 16: Bhalra and Assar Police arrested two persons and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Bhalra led by PSI Bhopinder Sharma apprehended a bootlegger along with 15 litres of lahan and 2 litres of illicit liquor, which he manufactured and was carrying for selling purpose in general area of Bhalra.
The arrested person was identified as Vipon Kumar, son of Des Raj, a resident of Himote Bhalra.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Assar led by Inspector Bhovinder Singh also apprehended a bootlegger namely Rajinder Singh, son of Thakur Dass of Babroo, Tehsil Assar and recovered 13 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession, which he was carrying for selling purpose in general areas of Assar and Baggar.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Bhaderwah and Assar and investigation started.
Both these recoveries and arrests were made under the supervision of Meer Ghafoor SDPO Bhaderwah, Showkat Ahmed DySP DAR Doda and Abdul Qayoom SSP Doda.
