Curb anti-national elements with full might: KPC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 13: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), president Kundan Kashmiri  while expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in J&K and recent communal violence in Kishtwar alleged that anti-national elements were trying to create the 1990 like Kashmir situation when minority Hindus were forced to flee from the Valley by Jehadis on the gun point.
Mr Kashmiri, while addressing his organization members at Jagti township today said that whenever NC-Congress came into coalition in the state the minorities had to suffer. It was the NC-Congress coalition in 1989-90 that mass exodus of minorities took place in Valley and for last 24 years the successive governments failed to rehabilitate the displaced Pandits in Valley by fulfilling their geo-political aspirations.
He said it was again the NC-Congress coalition that the minorities were targeted in Kishtwar and in 1987 when NC was supporting the ANC Government of GM Shah, the Kashmiri Pandits were targeted in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
The KPC chief asked the Union and State governments to take tough stance against the anti national elements instead of encouraging them as this way a wrong signal is being conveyed to the nation.
He also strongly condemned the lathicharge on KP youth at Jagti yesterday by police in which three youth were injured.
Meanwhile, All Displaced Kashmiri Samaj Youth Forum Jagti while expressing concern over the violence in Kishtwar said that always the minorities were put to problems in the State whenever NC-Congress coalition came to power. The Forum in its meeting held under the leadership of Mr Subash urged the Government to take stern action against divisive forces.
