Durga Nagar residents’ concern over erratic power , water supply

JAMMU, Feb 18: The Durga Nagar Welfare Committee has expressed concern over erratic power supply affecting the water supply in the area.
In a meeting today held under the chairmanship of its president Roshan Lal Raina , president of the Committee which was also addressed by chairman Ravinder Raina the Chief Engineers of PDD and Jal Shakti were asked to look into the problem as the power cuts and water scarcity has put the people of the area in a lot of trouble.
The meeting made an appeal to Chief Engineer and SE PDD to provide regular power supply to Muthi Goan Feeder so that the water supply to the Durga Nagar area is not affected and hampered.
It also demanded that there should not be any shutdown during the holy festival of Mahashivratri falling on February 28 and March 1. Moreover, there should be regular water supply on both the days. A plea in this regard was made to both CE and SE PHE also and their intervention in the matter was sought.
The meeting also demanded replacement of broken electric poles in the area.
Others who attended the meeting included C L Zutshi, Badri Nath, Behari Lal Raina, M K Raina, R L Koul, Shadi Lal, G L Sahni, M L Bhat, Bharat Bushan Gosani and Bansi Lal Dugal.
