Mir reviews progress on regularization of ReZs

Srinagar, Aug 14: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today chaired a high level meeting to review the progress of regularization of Rehbar-e- Zirat (ReZ) as per the State Cabinet decision, 2011.
Threadbare discussion was held regarding the implementation as per the road map prescribed in the Cabinet decision.
Minister of State for Agriculture, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi was also present in the meeting.
Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Secretary GAD, M A Bukhari, Director Agriculture, Jammu, Ajay Khajuria, Director Agriculture, Kashmir  Mushtaq Peerzada, Additional Secretary Agriculture Production, Additional Secretary Law and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
As per the Cabinet decision, 2642 Rehbar-e-Zirat candidates who are already registered with the department are being regularized as Village Agriculture Extension Assistants in three phases.  In first phase, 881 ReZs  are being regularized with effect from April 1, 2014, another 881 ReZs are being regularized  from April 1, 2015 in second phase and  remaining 880 ReZs from April 1, 2016 in third phase, the meeting was informed.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to complete all the formalities within the prescribed time so that regularization orders for first batch of eligible ReZs is issued on April 1, 2014 positively.
