JAMMU, Feb 24: The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu after going through status report filed by Special Investigating Team today directed SDPO City North, Jammu who heads SIT to quicken the investigation on priority basis with regard to FIR No. 187/2014 related to misplacement of a file.
Under-lining the need to fast track the investigation, court said “It needs to be noted that FIR under investigation pertains to year 2014. Even after eight years (nearly) down the line, the investigation is still open ended and has not zeroed in” adding “It is this kind of exceptionally slow pace in investigation from which real culprits in a criminal case draw an abiding leverage”.
It is pertinent to mention that FIR in question was registered on the direction of Registrar Vigilance, High Court of J&K – Jammu in the year 2014. With these observations, SIT was directed to file latest status report on next date of hearing.
