JAMMU, Feb 23: International Institute of Health Management Research Delhi (IIHMR Delhi) aims to produce trained manpower to manage health, hospital, and health IT sector.
This was informed by officials of IIHMR Delhi while addressing a press conference.
“IIHMR is part of the IIHMR Society which has a long legacy of establishing the first ever health management Institute in the country in Jaipur. In order to meet the increased demand, the society established another one in Bangalore and then Delhi in 2008” the officials said.
“At IIHMR Delhi, we are committed to train and transform aspirants into highly skilled healthcare managers, ready to take up the challenges of bringing a dramatic change to how healthcare is delivered. Our MBA equivalent Postgraduate Programme in Hospital and Health Management (PGDM) with specializations in Health Management, Hospital Management and Health Information Technology is focused at developing skilled managers with proficiency in strategizing and implementing management techniques, diagnosing and solving problems, developing consultancy and entrepreneurship skills who can contribute to provide value care in a healthcare organization be it a hospital, public health organization, NGO, biotech, pharmaceutical or a software firm”, the officials informed.
“We offer a two-year full time, NBA accredited, AIU approved PGDM course in Health and Hospital Management”, the officials said, adding that they have conducted several training programmes towards strengthening the management capabilities of in-service health professionals of the country and Asia Pacific region.
“We also offer week end Executive Programme in Management disciplines to working professionals. We have conducted and are conducting health system research projects funded by Government organizations and international organizations/ NGOs across different disciplines of public health. Our faculty members have been identified as Master trainers by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. IIHMR Delhi has done Global collaborations with International Hospitals and Universities for academic, research and training activities”, the officials said, adding that during COVID-19 times, they have contributed to the health care industry.
“We also had a checklist on our website to understand the psychological wellbeing level of the students. We conducted webinars on different aspects of COVID. We are participating in a telemedicine project with Project StepOne in Delhi. We conducted virtual capacity building workshop of almost 50 physiotherapists across 10 cities in the country on COVID-19 Rehabilitation with the Johns Hopkins Rehabilitation Network in Dec 2021- Johns Hopkins India Institute. We are working on several research projects to explore the aftereffects of COVID”, the officials said.
