JAMMU, Feb 24: Workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DF&SS) here today under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta organised a protest rally against the opening of 45 new liquor shops in Jammu division against only 6 in Kashmir.
The protesters raised slogans against liquor shops and said that city of temples should not be converted into city of alcohol.
Addressing the protesters Ashok Gupta claimed that the excise new policy will only create liquor mafia as big liquor contractors have started hiring some people with domicile certificates as stooges to take maximum number of license of these shops which would lead to mafia like the way it is in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
He said that the liquor should be banned in J&K like it has been banned in Gujarat and Bihar.
Ashish, Deepu, Arjun, Kaka, Bantu, Kalu, Naresh, Vikram, Sunny and many others were also present in the rally.
