JAMMU, Feb 27: Senior BJP leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat today flayed National Conference for unnecessarily maligning the image of BJP over the nod given to proposed changes in the draft report prepared by the Delimitation Commission.
In a statement issued here, the senior BJP leader alleged that whenever NC and Congress remained in power in J&K they manipulated the Delimitation Commission and when under the BJP regime the aforesaid panel has been assured powers to undo the discrimination, NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah is using foul language against BJP and its leadership, which is nationalist without any iota of doubt.
The former minister said that the ploy of NC and its ilk won’t work in J&K as people from Lakhanpur to Uri and from Poonch to Padder have become aware of the deceitful tactics of NC and the Congress and their ploy will no longer help them to hoodwink them. He said that enough is enough as the NC has ruled the region by indulging in politics of deception for more than 60 years but now the BJP Government has ensured fair play for all and this will show the real face of NC and Congress to the country as both these parties will face decimation in the ensuing elections.
The senior BJP leader said that NC has manipulated constituencies in J&K to manage poll outcomes but with PM Narendra Modi in power now the discrimination has been removed and sooner than later the people will decide the future of the UT with no scope of hoodwinking anyone through sham.
Bali Bhagat lauded the Delimitation Commission for giving due share to people. He also welcomed the revised draft which was prepared in view of the objections raised by the people and respecting the sentiments of the people.
