JAMMU, Mar1: The two- day national conference on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for Sustainable Future” culminated at Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu.
A large gathering of academic luminaries across India and abroad participated in the conference which was organized in collaboration with GDC Ukhral and Indian Congress, Jammu Chapter.
Dr Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department J&K UT, was the chief guest of the valedictory session. She stressed that such events need to be organized in a regular manner, so that the faculty and students keep abreast with the latest trends in the field of Science and Technology. She exhorted that there is a need for embracing technology which would enable the teaching fraternity to keep pace with the present times.
Earlier, Prof G S Rakwal, Principal of the College apprised the audience about the two day event aiming at bringing together research fraternity across the world to discuss scientific innovation and research.
Dr Vishal Sharma, Convener of the Conference IAST-SF 2022, presented a brief report on the proceedings of the conference and explained that more than 100 abstracts from different fields were received spanning eight plenary sessions divided into major thematic areas like Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences and Mathematical Sciences, Electronic Sciences, Computer Sciences, Material Sciences Nanotechnology, Social Sciences and Humanities, Agriculture Sciences, Energy and Management, Library and Information Sciences, Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
The event included special session for students- ‘Pitch up your Ideas’ in an attempt to provide a unique opportunity to children to use their scientific temperament and knowledge and to quench their thirst for creativity by conducting scientific experiments.
A special session was chaired by Prof M K Jyoti, Member Executive Committee, ISCA wherein Prof Vijay Laxmi Saxena, General President, ISCA gave the presidential address.
Dr Banpreet Kour delivered formal vote of thanks while Prof Bharti Slathia, coordinated proceedings of the session.
