The protesting Revenue officials raised slogans in support of their demands which include release of both the arrested Patwaris arrested in connection with missing of revenue record, providing Government accommodation for the Patwarkhanas and basic facilities for running the Patwar offices.
Speaking on the occasion, Viney Sharma said one of the arrested Patwaries was released by the police last evening but other is still in police custody. He said they had a meeting with the DC Jammu Anshul Garg this afternoon and he assured that the other Patwari will also be released today. Sharma informed that Patwaris and Girdwars throughout the Jammu district are on 3-day strike from March 1 during which they abstained from all types of official works.
He said all the Association members have unanimously decided to continue their strike and protest tomorrow as well since authorities concerned have failed to fulfill their genuine demands. “The arrested Revenue Department officials have no involvement in missing records and they have been implicated on fabricated allegations,” Sharma added.
