Racket preparing fake certificates busted, 4 held

SAMBA, June 6: With the arrest of four persons from Punjab, Samba and Jammu, the police busted a racket involved in preparing fake certificates and making easy buck by selling them to the needy youth.
Talking to media-persons here today, SSP Samba, Israr Khan, said that on the basis of specific complaints, the police party led by SDPO Vijaypur, Ashok Singh and SHO Ramgarh, Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, started investigations into the case. During the course of investigations, they found that these people had sold many fake Matriculation/ Higher Secondary (Plus 2) diplomas/ marks certificates to youth of the area for Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 and several youth have managed to secure jobs in Government and private sector.
The police party first arrested Sheetal Kumar, son of Ram Lal, resident of Data Talab Bari Brahmana and Ram Lal, son of Isher Dass, resident of Gole Gujral Jammu. After their sustained questioning, the police party nabbed two more accused including one from Punjab. They have been identified as Daljit Singh, son of Jaswant Singh of Ward No. 4, Menj Road, Mukerian Punjab and Sansar Chand, son of Dhanna Ram, resident of Gagore, Ramgarh. One more accused and some identified beneficiaries of these fake certificates are absconding, the SSP said.
Mr Khan further said that police also recovered one Laptop, two computers along with printers and scanners from the possession of Sheetal and Daljit. Eight certificates have also been recovered so far.
