Bodh Gaya blasts: 2 suspects picked up in Bihar

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today picked up two suspects in connection with a series of blasts that occurred at Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya last month.
The two suspects are learnt to have been picked up from Darbhanga area of the Bihar.
A Hindu priest, Arup Brahmachari, was earlier arrested by the NIA in connection with the blasts. Brahmachari hails from West Bengal and was staying at Bodh Gaya.
Sketches of the suspects were also distributed to the public by NIA in an endeavour to track the missing accused.
Multiple blasts tore through the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya on July 7 in which two monks were injured. While ten blasts took place in and around the temple premises, three unexploded bombs were also recovered from the complex.
Police said timers used to trigger the explosion were bought from a shop Guwahati and were manufactured at Rajkot in Gujarat. (agencies)
