Poonch Police organises show on drug abuse

JAMMU, Mar 8: To counter the menace of drug abuse, J&K Police has envisaged a plan to incorporate awareness on drug abuse. In this regard, ZPHQ Jammu has liaisoned with ace theatre group “NATRANG” to organise a series of stage shows on the impact of drug abuse and communal Harmony in the society. In this series, the first stage show was organised at Govt. Degree College Poonch.
The event was inaugurated by Tazeem Akhter DDC Chairperson Poonch in the presence of Inder Jeet Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rajesh Bisst, Commander 93 Infantry Brigade, Rohit Baskotra SSP Poonch, Sunil Sharma, Chairman Municipality, Prof. M H Shah, Principal Govt. Degree College, Dr. Basharat Hussain Additional Dy. Commissioner Mushim Ahmad Addl. Superintendent of Police and other prominent citizens.
The play showcased how the drug abuse is ruining the generation and thus crippling the development of young generation. A large number of students/ general public participated in the awareness programme and appreciated efforts by police to aware the people in the District.
The DDC Chairperson Poonch said that drug menace is badly affecting the society and there is need to aware the People especially the youth against this evil in the society, she complimented the role of police in guiding the society against this menace.
Mementos were distributed among the participants of the show and special guests.
