SAMBA, Mar 9: Samba police today reunited a mentally retarded person hailing from Durrgella, Kangra (H.P) with his family at BPP Kamore under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh.
A police party of BPP Kamore while performing patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area, noticed a person in pathetic condition roaming in border area falling under Border Police Post, Kamore.
The police party of BPP Kamore brought him to Border Police Post, Kamore. On questioning about his identity, he divulged his identity as Rakesh Kumar, son of Shakti Chand of Durrgella tehsil, Shahpur, district Kangra (H.P).
Immediately in charge BPP Kamore liaised with concerned Police Station, verified his character and antecedence and made contact with his family members.
After proper verification he was handed over to his relatives viz sister and brother-in-law at BPP Kamore after completing all legal formalities.
The family members expressed their gratitude towards Samba police for their act of reuniting the missing person with them.
