SRINAGAR, March 10: In recognition of its best performance in Self Help Group Bank Linkage, Ministry of Rural Development (GoI) has awarded J&K Bank with ‘National Award for Outstanding Performance for FY 2020-21’.
Zonal Head Delhi Kirti Sharma received the national award on behalf of Bank from the Union Minister for Rural Development, Giriraj Singh during the event organized by the Ministry of Rural Development (GoI) to celebrate Women’s Day at Vigyan Bhawan Delhi. The event was attended by various women self-help groups who shared their success stories and praised the Bank for providing them timely support in gaining not only self-sufficiency but earning livelihoods for others as well.
Meanwhile, keeping its commitment to extend banking facilities and financial services into the under-banked areas of Jammu and Kashmir, J&K Bank has expanded its footprint by commissioning four Business Units (BUs) in the valley.
The Bank’s MD & CEO, Baldev Prakash inaugurated the Business Unit Pattan Village in Baramulla in presence of Executive President Sunil Gupta, President Ashutosh Sareen. He also e-inaugurated the business units Model Town Sopore, Bakura Ganderbal and Narakara Budgam during the function attended by Zonal Heads Tabassum Nazir and Arshad Hussain amidst good gathering of valuable customers, senior citizens, local businessmen and other officers of the bank.
Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO said, “We are pleased to dedicate these new business units to serve the people. These have been suitably resourced and equipped to provide best financial services and state-of-the-art banking facilities to the people.”
Expressing hope that the business units shall further strengthen the Bank’s bond with the people, he urged the participants to avail the benefits of the Bank’s various products and schemes that have been designed to meet their specific requirements. “We are committed to empower the people especially youth by financing their viable business ventures and other self-employment projects”, he said.
On the occasion, MD & CEO also acknowledged the commitment and dedication of Bank staff. However, he advised them to ensure quality services to customers while making sure that the Bank’s business registers positive growth every day.
