Sudhmahdev fest organised

JAMMU, June 6: Three-day Sudh Mahadev Cultural Festival was organised at Higher Secondary School, Sudhmahdev, by Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, Janipur in close cooperation with the District administration, Udhampur, Youth and Sports Department and Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu.
The mela was inaugurated by Mela Officers, SN Summan while Duggar Rattan Awardee Haji Ghulam Mohd Dansalia and Prof Bhim Singh were the guests of honour.
Over 50 thousand devotees after darshan enjoyed the Cultural Festival. Folk Troupes of Jammu region like Kalo Devi and party, Ram Ditta and party and many others presented folk cultural Bonaza like Geetru, Baran, Pakha and folk dances of India, which attracted a large number of audience and appreciated by everybody.
Renowned artists of Radio and Doordarshan like Haji Ghulam Mohd, Usha Handoo, Neelam Gandotra, Sanjeev, Kamli and many others with their spell bound performances won the hearts of the audience.
Earlier, while presenting the welcome address, Dogra said the main aim of the festival is to create awareness among the masses to preserve the cultural heritage of the State.
