JAMMU, Mar 11: The three days ‘Training of Trainers and Introduction to Simulation Based Education’ programme culminated today at Jammu Skills and Simulation Center, Nagrota.
The extensive training programme was attended by 14 expert Pharmacists, OT Technicians and experts from the field of Medicine, Anesthesia, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Objective of the training was to orient the selected faculty with simulators and task trainers in the lab and give an overview of basic concepts of Simulation Based Teaching Methodology.
They were trained widely on the subject to build upon their expertise to conduct cascade trainings for the health teams at their respective stations.
Dr. Ruchi Sharma (ESS, Laerdal Medical India) facilitated the sessions along with the participants from last trainings-Dr. Shelly Mahajan, Const. Anesthesia & Dr. Amit, MO, PG Anesthesia under the support of Dr. Saleem ur Rehman, Director General FW, MCH & Immunization, J&K & Director Health Services, Jammu and Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director (Dentistry).
The training programme is component of an initiative by DHS Jammu with a vision to train health care providers on common emergencies and hence improve health care indicators in the region.
A handout stated that objectives of these trainings are to build capacity and competence of health care providers and their team using skills and simulation trainings and to help reduce medical errors with more efficient health care team.
The training programme concluded with concrete action plan from the participants to implement the learning from the trainings in their hospital settings.
