Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Mar 11: Chowki Choura Police foiled bovines smuggling bid and arrested two cattle smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Post Chowki Choura led by SI Saroop Singh under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial laid a naka and intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK20-9509.
During checking, police team rescued six bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two cattle smugglers, who were identified as Vikram Singh, son of Shamsher Singh of District Rajouri and Varinder Singh, a resident of Sunderbani District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 54/2022 under Sections 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 207 and 3/181 MV Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
