SRINAGAR : A new batch of 84 pilgrims left Baltal base camp while 59 travelled in helicopters to Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas today.
A yatra official said that 59 pilgrims travelled in helicopters from base camps to Holy Cave today.
However, the authorities had closed Nunwan Pahalgam traditional route since yesterday afternoon.
He said 84 pilgrims, including women and sadhus left Baltal base camp early this morning for the cave shrine, where the 55-day-long yatra will conclude tomorrow on Raksha Bandan.
He said 59 yatris travelled in helicopters from Baltal and Pahalgam base camps to pay obeisance at the Holy Cave today.
The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) had decided not to allow any yatri from Nunwan Pahalgam as it was not possible for the pilgrim to reach the shrine tomorrow when the annual yatra will conclude.
