Existing PSUs in the field are going ahead with the implementation of the mission and it is but natural that a periodic appraisal of the progress is made. It is, however, pertinent that the service providers are getting proper help and required co-operation from the government in laying the cables and thus connecting targeted areas with speed keeping in view the targets set to be achieved. When it is a vast area with known challenges, both climatic and geographical, as in the case of Ladakh, it becomes all the more necessary. In this connection, an assurance given by the Lieutenant Governor of the UT of Ladakh to the service providers of full governmental support will remove any types of humps in the work of connecting 193 gram panchayats presently underway. Erecting mobile towers is of great importance in respect of ensuring connectivity based on optical fibre cables and usually in this area problems occur. The Lt.
