BSP celebrates birthday of Kanshi Ram

JAMMU, Mar 15: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Jammu and Kashmir organised a function to celebrate the birthday of Kanshi Ram founder of the party at BSP headquarter here, today.
Dr Karim Puri presided over the function . While addressing the gathering he highlighted the sacrifices and efforts of Kanshi Ram to unite the Dalit Samaj and give a platform to BSP to educate the poor masses to fight for their cause and rights.
S R Majotra president of J&K Unit of BSP while addressing the workers congratulated them on the day. He said Kanshi Ram travelled 1000 kilometers on foot and cycle to aware the people about Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar who fought to get some concession for the downtrodden and untouchable Dalits who were ignored in education , social, religious, political and socio economic developments.
He appealed the workers to work dedicatedly and go to the villages to spread the message of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram.
Others who spoke included Charanjit Bitta vice president , Pritam Chand general secretary, Tarseem Chand and Pushpa Kumar district president Jammu, Prithvi Lal, Mangal Dass and Raman district president Samba, Udhampur and Kathua districts respectively.
