SAMBA, Mar 15: One person was killed and two were seriously injured in a road accident on Jammu- Pathankot National Highway near Ghagwal in Samba district late last night.
Police said a speeding car rammed into a tree late last night near Ghagwal on Jammu -Pathankot NH. The nearby people informed the police which with the help of locals shifted all the three injured persons to District Hospital Samba where the doctor declared one person brought dead while two others were referred to Medical College and Hospital Jammu after giving first aid.
After the post-mortem of the deceased held in District Hospital Samba, the body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Manpreet Singh, son of Paramjit Singh, resident of Dakoha, Jalandhar, Punjab, while the injured have been identified as Simranjit Singh, son of Paramjit Singh, resident of Dakoha, Jalandhar, Punjab and Anil, son of Dev Bahadur Singh, resident of Damtal, Punjab. The police have registered a case in this regard.
