Sanskrit speech training camp begins

JAMMU, Mar 15: In connection with 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Pandit Uttam Chand Pathak Shastri, who led a dedicated life towards Sanskrit, a 15-day long Sanskrit speech training camp began today at Central Sanskrit University, Shri Ranveer Campus, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu.
Being organized under the joint aegis of Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, this camp is free for participation by any person from all over the J&K.
Sham Lal Sharma, former minister and BJP State vice-president, who was the chief guest in the inaugural function, said that Jammu and Kashmir with the help of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan was making important contribution in developing India a world guru once again. Today all the people of J&K need to feel pride by connecting themselves with our roots through culture of Sanskar and Sanskrit, he added.
President of the Birth Centenary Year Celebration Committee and Vice Chancellor of SKUAST, Jammu, Prof J P Sharma, in his lecture, stressed the need to move forward by connecting Indian culture and Sanskrit with technology.
Acharya Abhishek Kumar Upadhyay, Principal of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Vishwasthali, in his address, explained in detail the purpose of establishment of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan and its future plans.
J&K BJP Spokesperson Abhinav Sharma, who came as a special guest, analyzed the language and the subject as an advocate.
The program Chairman Prof Madan Mohan Jha inspired everyone to work with determination for the study and teaching of Sanskrit.
Acharya Rohit Shastri, President of Shri Kailak Vedic and Vedic Sansthan Trust, threw light on the proposed programmes to be conducted throughout the year. He appealed Government to introduce Sanskrit in all the schools of J&K.
Sharad Chand threw light on the life history of Dr Uttam Chand Pathak Shastri while Head of Astrology Department, Prof Mohapatra presented a formal vote of thanks.
Teachers of the Central Sanskrit University and a large number of students, researchers and dignitaries attended the programme. Sarpanch of Bhalwal Rajdev Singh was also present on this occasion.
In collaboration with Dr Kamal Kishore and Director Central Sanskrit University, a Dogri app was also launched on the occasion. Dogri, Hindi, Sanskrit and English language can be availed through this app.
