JTC, SKF dharna enters 522nd day

JAMMU, Mar 16: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) president, Shadi Lal Pandita has reiterated his demand of hiking the cash assistance of migrant relief holders from Rs 13500 to 25,000.
Addressing the protestors at Jagti township near, here he said the peaceful dharna of JTC and SKF has entered 522nd day today. Pandita said that the Government was deliberately ignoring the displaced Pandits whose problems are compounding day by day and no concrete steps are being taken to settle them.
Pandita alleged that there is no concrete policy on rehabilitation of exiled Pandits in Valley and reiterated his demand of settling them in three townships in Baramulla, Anantnag and Srinagar districts by creating the satellite townships there.
Expressing serious concern over growing unemployment in the community and the desperation of the youth, he demanded announcement of a job package with 20,000 jobs for community youth including 500 class fourth jobs for those youth who could not continue their studies due to poverty.
He also demanded release of ex-gratia for the gutted houses and other properties, passage of Shrines and Temples Bill and removal of encroachments from migrants land and shrines land.
