JAMMU, Mar 16: All J&K Road Transport Corporation Voluntarily Retired Employees Association has urged the Chief Secretary, J&K, Arun Kumar Mehta to release the pending arrears of the VRS given RTC employees.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of the Association, Dev Raj Bali said that VRS given RTC workers are struggling for the last more than seven years for the release of their 6th Pay Commission, COLA and DA arrears. They are continuously holding protests and also submitted representations to MD SRTC and higher authorities but till date only false assurances were received.
Bali further stated that the bills of the VRS/GHS and retired employees are lying in the Transport Corporation and Finance Department reported to have transferred the funds but unnecessary delay is being caused in release.
The Association sought the intervention of Chief Secretary and the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and issued directions for the release of their pending arrears of 6th Pay Commission, DA and COLA without any more delay. They also extended gratitude to the print and electronic media for projecting their genuine and justified issue for the last several years.
Bali was accompanied by Suraj Singh, Jasbir Singh, Ramesh Singh, Pappu Bhan and R K Sawhney.
