Thief arrested, stolen cash recovered

JAMMU, Mar 19: Chowki Choura Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen cash from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by priest of Kali Mata temple Ardhan Kathar with Police Post Chowki Choura stating that during the intervening night of March 10 and 11 this year, a theft took place in temple premises wherein some cash was stolen.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 63/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Post Chowki Choura led by SI Saroop Singh was constituted under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Hilal Azhar and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial.
Based on inputs received from general public, the team arrested the accused who was identified as Rattan Lal, son of Shitu Ram of Kalsar District Reasi. On his disclosure, stolen cash amounting Rs 7375 was also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial has appealed to the general public to install CCTV cameras in their areas for surveillance and security purpose.
