4 drug peddlers arrested with cannabis, heroin

JAMMU, Mar 20: Gandhi Nagar and Sidhra Police arrested four drug peddler along with cannabis and heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Pankaj Sharma under the supervision of SDPO South Sachit Sharma and SP South Mamta Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a Xylo car bearing registration number JK05C-4047.
During checking, police team recovered 500 grams cannabis from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Abid Hussain Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohi-ul-Din Sheikh, a resident of Chersoo Awantipora District Pulwama.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Sidhra led by SI Shakil Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Vishav Pratap Singh and SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka and apprehended three drug peddlers along with 11 grams of heroin.
The arrested drug peddlers were identified as Tasleem Arif, son of Javed Ahmed and Mohammad Asgar, son of Mohammad Akbar, both residents of Nardani Bantalab District Jammu and Pawan Singh, son of Vakeel Singh of Sherpur Katra.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Police Stations Gangyal and Nagrota and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignments and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
