Balbir asks community members to help poor

JAMMU, Mar 20: National Secretary of Guru Ravi Dass Vishwa Mahapeeth, Balbir Ram Rattan, has stressed upon the community members to help the poor in society.
Speaking at a programme in Guru Ravi Dass temple Upper Gummat, Balbir said that there are many families in the society which are not in a position to arrange even basic needs and many among them cannot even get their children educated as per their wish.
“We should accept it our social responsibility to extend all possible help to such people around us,” he maintained adding that such a gesture also gives a sense of happiness and inspires others for adopting similar approach towards poor.
Balbir and Mahapeeth’s J&K vice president, Ashok Gandhi were felicitated by Ravi Dass Mandir Chairman, Ravi Angral in presence of senior vice president, Shiv Ram and secretary, Adarsh Jathiar by presenting Siropa and memento.
After this, Balbir joined the Mandir office bearers and distributes the stationary items among some children from poor families of the area.
Rattan said that great saints like Guru Ravi Dass taught social equality and brotherhood which should be propagated.
Ashwani Kumar, Chaman Angral, Asha Bharti, Sangita Anand and Neelam Devi were prominent among those present on the occasion.
