JAMMU, Mar 20: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a meeting here, today discussed various issues confronting the displaced Pandits from the Valley.
The meeting was chaired by president, AIMCCC, Desh Rattan Pandita. He urged the Government to solve the problems of displaced Pandits pilling up for last over three decades.
He said the successive Governments at Centre and in erstwhile State of J&K betrayed the community but now the truth about the genocide has come to light with screening of the Kashmir Files, it is hoped that Government will take suitable and effective steps for the rehabilitation of community and providing justice to it.
He said it is unfortunate that some days back Education Department in Kashmir has issued an order in which migrant female teachers who were attached to nearest to district headquarters due to security reasons have been now detached and posted in far-flung areas.
Expressing concern over the style of functioning of the officers of the Department, the meeting
appealed the Lt Governor of JKUT to look into the issue especially of female teachers. The meeting said it is duty of Government to provide all facilities to these employees and also ensure security and safety to them. The meeting expressed the hope that LG administration to take steps in positive direction in this regard.
