JAMMU, Mar 21: To discuss and highlight issues related to the Assistant Librarians and Deputy Librarians of the University of Jammu, a new organisation with the name Jammu University Library Officers Association (JULOA) has been formed.
In the first meeting of the members of this Association, held at Dhanvantri Library, Dr Tarseem Singh was unanimously elected as the President and Dr Anita Sachar as Vice President.
Besides, Dr Bindu Sharma was elected as Secretary, Anuradha Sharma as Finance Secretary and Rakesh Kumar as Organising Secretary of this Association.
In a statement issued to the press, the president Dr Tarseem Singh said at present there was no elected or nominated body of the library professionals of the university to deliberate their issues and hence this Association will work as a bridge between library personnel and the administration. He said it will also work for promotion of library services and activities through different programmes for the benefits of research fraternity and society.
