POONCH, Mar 21: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Poonch Police today arrested a drug paddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
On a specific information, a team from Police Station Mandi led by Insp.
Bashir Ahmed Kohli raided the shop of one Shakeel Ahmed (24), son of Abdul Hamid Shaikh, resident of Azamabad Mohalla, Irinar, at present running a Readymade garments shop at Bus Stand, Mandi.
During the raid, 115 gms of charas was recovered from the shop in presence of Tehsildar Mandi. On this a case FIR No. 40/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Mandi and investigation was launched.
Poonch police has sought active cooperation from the general public in sharing of information related to drug abuse so that appropriate steps can be initiated and a drug free environment is created.
