JAMMU, Mar 22: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Apni Party (AP) and Congress Party today condemned killing of an innocent civilian as well as a policeman by the militants in Kashmir.
BJP National general secretary and the Party Incharge of Jammu and Kashmir, Tarun Chugh strongly condemned the killing of one person in Budgam and injuring another in Pulwama by militants, last evening. In a statement, Chugh said that militants are killing poor and common citizens, which is reprehensible and reflects frustration among militants. He said that these are the acts of cowardice and security forces will deal with it firmly and effectively.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari expressed heartfelt condolences on killing of Imran Ahmad (a policeman) in a brief shootout with militants at Soura Srinagar.”My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. The cycle of violence is despicable and serves no cause. It only leaves behind inevitable loss and adds to our sufferings” Bukhari wrote on Twitter.
In a statement to the press, Bukhari said, “I unequivocally condemn this attack while at the same time sending my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I urge the Government to take precautionary measures to save innocent lives on duty. I hope that the perpetrators of the crime are punished at the earliest,” he said.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) expressed serious concern and anguish over the regular incidents of bloodshed in the Valley while strongly condemning the killing of a policeman by unidentified militants in shoot out in Zoonimar area of Srinagar. JKPCC also condemn the killing of a civilian in Budgam and attack on non-local labourer in Pulwama late last night.
“The Party conveys heartfelt condolences to family of slain cop and Budgam civilian while expressing its solidarity with the bereaved families. JKPCC feels that Government must take further effective measures to put an end to the bloodshed and give exemplary punishment to those found responsible behind the gruesome attack, a spokesperson of JKPCC added.
