JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu Police seized 6 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
As per police sources, teams from Police Station Miran Sahib, Police Station Satwari, Police Post Canal Road, Police Post Talab Tillo and Police Post Sainik Colony raided different locations in their respective areas and seized 6 different vehicles involved in illegal mining.
It is pertinent to mention here that a fine of Rs 15606 was also imposed by Joint Director Geology and Mining Department Jammu against the seizure made by Police Station Miran Sahib.
The overall recoveries were made by SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Sultan Mirza, SHO Satwari Inspector Sameer Jiilani, Incharge Police Post Canal Road PSI Ishfaq Ahmed Kasana, Incharge Police Post Talab Tillo PSI Rajesh Kumar and Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony PSI Bhawani Singh.
DMO Jammu was also intimated about the same.
The mining was being done in violation of order of High Court of J&K.
In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law, Jammu Police has initiated strict action.
