JAMMU, Mar 27: Channi Himmat Police arrested a man and recovered country made pistol from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information about movement of a person with weapon, a team from Police Station Channi Himmat led by SHO Inspector Deepak Katoch under the supervision of SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari and SP South Mamta laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered country made pistol from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Basharat Singh, son of Balraj Singh, a resident of Sunjwan District Jammu.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started to ascertain the motive of the arrested person of carrying the pistol.
