BANDIPORA, Aug 23: Shardha Mata Trust (SMT) alongwith All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) jointly organized the reopening ceremony of ancient holy 125 ft long Maha Daneshwar Cave (Chhota Amarnath) in Bandipora area after 24 years here on the occasion of Shrawan Purnima
SMT alongwith APMCC organised yatra to famous, ancient holy Daneshwar Cave also known as Chhota Amarnath after 24 years of migration of Kashmiri Hindus from Valley taking scores of yatries this year to the cave shrine.
Situated at 5800 ft above sea level in dense forests this holy cave used to be frequented by Kashmiri Hindus regularly prior to their mass migration where yatra used to be conducted for one month to culminate on Raksha Bandan.
APMCC Chairman Vinod Pandit said that his organization has extended full support to SMT for organizing this yatra adding from now on this yatra will be an annual feature and APMCC will always extend full support to such initiatives.
While thanking APMCC for its whole hearted support the president SMT Rattan Lal Bhat said that SMT has been working hard to make this yatra a success for quite some time adding his organization will conduct this yatra regularly hence forth.
According to King Bharati, National Spokesperson, APMCC, the SMT alongwith APMCC activists had visited the holy cave last month to conduct trial yatra adding the pilgrims arrived at Shardha Mata Temple, Kaloosa, Bandipora on August 19, 2013 and proceeded for Yatra towards Daneshwar Cave on August 21 at 7am after medical Checkup of yatries.
The yatries returned to Srinagar from Kaloosa today after paying obeisance inside the holy cave.
The yatries have to bend to enter the cave and crawl through ice cold water for around 125 ft long to reach a dome like structure inside where around eight yatries can stand and perform puja archana at one time.
