JAMMU, Aug 23: In a petition filed by Mohd Ashraf seeking out of turn promotion against the post of Assistant Sub Inspector in Police Department on the strengthen of policy framed by the respondents, High Court has directed the DGP to file supplementary affidavit on the issue.
After hearing Advocate Rahul Pant for the petitioner whereas Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the State, Justice Ali Mohd Magrey observed, “in order to appreciate the rival contentions of the counsels for the parties it has become necessary to direct the respondents to file supplementary affidavit and explain as to whether the policy framed for according benefit to the police personnel for out of turn promotion stands notified so as to enable the eligible officials/ officers for claiming the benefit”.
“A copy of the policy of notified shall also be made available before this Court on the next date of hearing and DGP is directed to file supplementary affidavit within four weeks”, the HC said.
