JAMMU, Mar 28: Panun Kashmir (PK) in its executive meeting discussed the emerging Kashmiri Pandit scenario in a renewed and revitalized paradigm.
Virender Raina, president PK said that the demand for a separate homeland in Kashmir has attained a renewed momentum. He said the manner in which the internally displaced people of Kashmir have begun to express themselves post the movie Kashmir Files depicts the internal catharsis and the volcanic anger of the community for the last 32 years.
Raina said that the powers that be have all along tried to trivialize the humongous tragedy of the Kashmiri Pandits as some kind of a non-event. Some brazen politicians responsible for the genocide and exodus have all along been insulting our tragedy as some kind of a picnic undertaken at the behest of former Governor Jagmohan.
Raina added that some Indian politicians have been no less, the recent statements of the Delhi CM, mocking at the misfortune of the displaced Kashmiri Pandits is very unfortunate and insensitive. The Delhi CM and his team must know that under the international covenants any insult to the survivors of genocide is a crime against the humanity.
Panun Kashmir strongly condemned the use of human tragedy for the purpose of settling political scores. PK has all along been demanding the setting up of a Commission of Enquiry that would go into the entire gamut of the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and expose and punish the perpetrators of such heinous crimes against the humanity in the garb of theo-fascist terror. Until and unless the guilty are not punished the wounds of the survivors of genocide would keep on festering till eternity and the country would not be seen as a just and humane society.
Raina said that the reversal of genocide is essential because than only the real process of rehabilitation and reparations can begun in true sense. Kashmiri Pandits are overwhelmed with the response of the people of this nation towards the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits. Majority of the countrymen empathise with our tragedy and it’s a matter of satisfaction, he added.
The prominent who attended the meeting include Kamal Bagati general secretary(O), Upinder Koul general secretary, Ashok Chrungoo, Surinder Koul, Vijay Qazi, N.M.Gadroo, Virender Koul, Sanjay Kaul and Sameer Mattoo.
