SRINAGAR, Mar 28: National Conference (NC) Women Wing here on Monday held a one day convention of district Bandipora.
The convention marked participation of Women Wing functionaries from across the district.
Among others NC DDC members, district and provincial level functionaries were present.
The event was presided over by J&K NC Women Wing president, Shameema Firdous.
On this occasion scores of Panchs and Sarpanchs from Bandipura joined NC and they were welcomed into the party fold by NC Women Wing leaders.
Speaking on the occasion Shameema Firdous said: “We have been the forerunners in promoting issues relating to development and gender equality.”
“From time to time NC led government earnestly worked to materialize its progressive vision enshrined in Naya Kashmir document but the successive non-NC governments including the present regime have least focused on placing women at the centre of developmental discourse,” she claimed.
NC provincial president, Sabiya Qadri also spoke on the occasion.
