JAMMU, Mar 29: Retired Judge of J&K High Court, Justice G L Raina, passed away following an illness here today. He was 83.
Resident of village Akura in Anantnag district of Kashmir valley he is survived by his wife, Krishna Raina and three daughters. His eldest daughter is married to Vinod Koul former Commissioner Secretary J&K Government while his second daughter is Professor at BITS Pilani. His third daughter is married to Amit Arya the Media Advisor to Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar.
Justice Raina was also nephew of veteran KP leader and journalist, Kashyap Bhandu.
His last rites will be held at 12 noon tomorrow at Channi Himmat cremation ground .
Justice Raina had rendered services as the Lokayukta of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by Haryana Government said.
He had also served as Chairman of several judicial commissions including Backward Classes Commission J&K.
Justice G L Raina had been unwell for a long time and had earlier undergone treatment at a hospital in Gurugram also, statement said.
Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar expressed grief over the demise of Justice Raina.
