Khour delegation calls on DC over illegal mining

AKHNOOR, Mar 29: A delegation from village Bardoh led by DDC Chairman and former MLA Bharat Bhushan called on Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg over illegal mining and Kaleeth field firing range issues in Jammu today.
District general secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha, Suresh Sharma told the Deputy Commissioner that the license of mineral dealership/ dumping has been given by the Mining department in Bardoh to one Rattan Lal. But the people connected with it were indulging in illegal mining from Manawar Tawi. The local people held protest against the Mining Department and even the DMO Jammu Gulshan Kumar visited the site.
BJP leader pointed out that DMO has taken no action despite the fact that this area has not been auctioned so far. This nearly 25 km area of Manawar river has been left out. He sought intervention of the District Magistrate into the matter.
The delegation also take up the issue of Kaleeth field firing range and said that compensation was being provided by the authorities for the last 40 years but now suddenly village Bardoh , Kalakas and Mana have been removed from list of compensation. There is no change in firing area or firing direction but these villages have been excluded from compensation list. They also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
The Deputy Commissioner assured the delegation that their issues will be resolved shortly. DDC chairman was accompanied by BJP vice resident Suraj Singh, DDC member Bhusan Bral, Panch Ravi Kumar, Panch Sanjeev Kumar, Puran Chand and Chaman Lal.
