NEW DELHI, Aug 24: The Gateway Hotels & Resorts, part of the Taj Group, today announced the launch of its hotel–The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway– in Chennai.
This marked the debut of The Gateway Hotel brand in Chennai, it said in a statement.
This is also the first hotel to be launched in a metro city after the brand was unveiled in 2008.
Catering to the upscale segment, The Gateway Hotels & Resorts has 23 hotels in its portfolio.
Commenting on the launch, Prabhat Verma, Chief Operating Officer, The Gateway Hotels & Resorts said, “The launch of The Gateway Hotel IT Expressway Chennai is a proud moment for us and essential to the brand’s growth strategy of catering to the new age traveller. There is immense growth and development potential in a burgeoning market like Chennai, especially on the Old Mahabalipuram Road.”
Located in the heart of the IT corridor and within close proximity to the East Coast Road, the hotel is well equipped to cater to both leisure and business travellers, said Ranjit Shankar, General Manager.
The hotel has 200 spacious rooms and has a 4,800 sq ft Ballroom – Concorde – to host up to 600 guests.
