Gurmeet starts lane-drain work

JAMMU, Mar 30: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today started lane and drain work in Sector-C of Sainik Colony in Ward number 69.
A handout stated that the work will be completed at an approximate cost of Rs. 2.7 lakh and it was the long pending demand of locals of the area as lane and drain there was in dilapidated condition due to which people faced a lot of problems while moving through such a lane.
Speaking on the occasion Gurmeet Randhawa asked the people of her Ward to cooperate JMC in ensuring cleanliness in the area.
She urged upon the people to stop throwing garbage and debris in lanes and drains and avoid single use plastic and polythene.
The BJP leader stressed upon the people of Sainik Colony to segregate wet and dry garbage at their own level before handing it over to garbage collector auto-rickshaws.
Pandit Janadaran, Ashwani Sharma, Kanta Devi, Capt. Tarlok Singh, Parveen Sharma, Hamit Kour, Narinder Jamwal, Daljit Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
