“Migrants of Jammu, including Doda, Rajouri-Poonch or Reasi who were forced to migrate 20 years back or so deserve equal opportunities including ration, food supply, residential facilities whether they are migrants from Kashmir or Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri-Poonch or elsewhere from any corner of Jammu province also,” said an appeal by JKNPP President Prof Bhim Singh to the President of India seeking urgent action to ensure justice to all migrants of J&K.
Panthers Party said that nearly 5000 migrants, generally known as Talwara Migrants have remained denied of justice for the last 20 years in spite of judicial orders and judgments of the Supreme Court of India for years.
